GIPC introduces the garment industry’s first salary survey

 

Human resources firm HR (Cambodia), Inc., has completed useful studies of jobs and compensation in banking and service sector, and now with support from USAID and GIPC, and with the cooperation of GMAC, has completed the first survey of jobs and compensation in the garment industry.

H.E. Pich Sophoan, Deputy Minister for Vocational Training with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, was the honored speaker at a meeting of industry, government, NGO, labor and education representatives who were invited to learn about the study.  GIPC will use the information about jobs and skills in its workforce development initiatives, sharing the findings about education needs with all stakeholders.  The salary information will be available for sale by HR, Inc., with proceeds supporting ongoing training initiatives of GMAC and GIPC, and regular updates by the HR research team.  For more information, contact HR (Cambodia), Inc., at +(855)-23 996 506 or GIPC at +(855)-23 221 425.

With some financial support from USAID and the assistance of the Garment Industry Productivity Center, HR (Cambodia) Inc. completed the first survey of jobs and compensation in the Cambodian garment industry.  The comprehensive study and resulting statistical analysis provide an in-depth perspective needed by managers in the industry, and by public and private sector stakeholders interested in Cambodia’s labor markets.  The survey also contributes to GIPC’s workforce development initiatives, specifically the analysis of jobs and competencies needed to for a dynamic and competitive industry.  Attached is a summary that illustrates the type of content to be found in the study.  The full report is available for sale from HR (Cambodia), Inc.,
