Ability - Aptitude Test: Selection Test for Personnel

The objective of the course is to train Human Resources personnel to evaluate the skills and aptitudes of candidates for employment or for specialized or leadership roles. These tests do not identify the mental or psychological aptitude of the candidates but their physical capability and intellectual capacity for the jobs to be covered.

Duration

4 hours at the Center or in a factory classroom and 4 hours on the job during the first test day applied by the factory’s personnel.

Requirements

Participants are Human Resources Department personnel with experience in recruitment.

Course Content

At the client’s discretion and based on the current needs, Human Resources personnel will be familiarized with a series of tests that assess physical capability, spatial sense (shapes test, lines test), and reasoning and comprehension tests. GIPC instructors will administer the tests to pre-identified employees at the factory to demonstrate techniques and evaluation methods, and will then observe and coach participants in conducting the evaluations with a separate group of participants.

Tests cover all production positions in a garment manufacturing facility, including manual worker, machine and equipment operator, line leader and supervisor, finishing and quality control, engineering and production management.

The test uses for the selection are the following:
• Lines test
• Perception test
• Tad Poles test
• Pin Board test
• Shapes test
• Comprehension Test No.
• Comprehension test No. 2
• Arithmetic test
• Geometric Serial test.

Competencies

The personnel ability can be defined from the lowest category personnel to the middle management level.

At the conclusion of the course, the participant will be certified to apply the tests requested and to analyze the results to guide in the selection of employees for specified positions.
