Time Study and Textile Basics


The course will teach participants time measurement in the industrial environment. At the end of the course, the participant will be able to establish the standard time of any garment factory production operation with due consideration for rating, fatigue allowance, service and personal tolerances.

The participant will also receive background knowledge on the characteristics of fabrics commonly used in apparel manufacture and how the material affects production.

Training includes practical application with students in their factories.



Duration


60 hours at the classroom and 40 hours in-factory

Requirements

High Scholl education

Basic mathematics skills

Practical experience in the garment industry highly desirable

English fluency helpful; Khmer acceptable (Chinese translation may be provided if necessary)

Who should take this course?


Sewing factory supervisory personnel, industrial engineering department personnel, line leaders identified as candidates for supervisory or engineering positions. 

Course Content

Characteristics of fibers, yarns and fabrics

Proper use of an industrial stopwatch

Basic skills in time measurement and industrial engineering principles

Definition and establishment of normal time, rating and standard time

Application of cycle control

Definition of efficiency, performance and productivity
